Cross roads still suck, Kind of…

Earlier in the month I wrote of my disillusions around my own direction in EVE. Essentially fed up with highsec with its mining, mission running, and ho-hum safety with all my focus scattered across lonetrek. EVE SOB was a drift again. I craved action and change. I wanted a bigger ship. I wanted to shoot people. Want had become my only need.

As my own profile states “I am too stubborn to follow and too angry to lead” this leaves me limited options moving forward. I have to lay down one of my crosses and get on with it. The Stubborn part of me is a gift from my Scottish blood. The anger is a result of MMO players creating senseless political bullshit inside a game.

In the end the actions taken are to keep with my qualities and set them aside, let me explain:

The first clear thing I have done is keep SonOfBraben in our highsec manufacturing corp. to continue down the road of the builder. Mining is becoming less and less of a need here and having ZombiNutz sitting about in a hauler is silly now. The stubborn will stick to the plan and keep myself funded without fear of becoming angry in having to manage people. The hermit life in all its glory!

As a result of this ZombiNutz is now free to go explore the universe. He is back in a starter corp. as another drake flying young Caldari with many lessons to learn. A young Caldari actively seeking employment, as a grunt for a corporation that strikes me as worthy of my time. A corp. that has some bloody direction this time and not just one man’s goal list. Yet one not large enough to have the political torment that fuels my anger. As a grunt I can enjoy following someone else’s plan and whatever experiences they might afford me. I can let my anger guide my missiles towards targets and agendas while someone else anguishes over the results.

I’ve reached out to a corp. here and chatted with folks there. I am still looking for the right mix of nice people and big plans to throw my little Caldari at. So if you have a corp. that could use a generic Drake jockey who can also fly Gallente Frigs and an Orca. Send ZombiNutz a mail with sparkling recruitment promises and corp. vision that I cannot see though. In return my blog will include the story of my life in this corp. for the entire world (well 3 people) to read.

**EDIT*** I FLY US-EAST Time Zone. However I tend to play odd hours a few nights a week.

FLY GRUMPY!

Cheers

  1. Stop training Caldari...switch to Amarr or Minmatar and go out there and shoot ppl.

  2. So amarr ships eh? Caldari and Gallente ships really that horrid for PvP? Go where exactly!?! Lowsec to become another bit of lunch meat for the locals? Will anyone hire a Caldari pilot with drake skills?!?!? ;)

Thanks for the input Mansai. I value the mules input greatly. Just not iron fist please, be kind. :)

  3. If you switch to Amarr or Minmatar just get up to t2 small guns, and be able to fly either the punisher or Rifter. You can operate as light tackle as well as solo in lowsec and some nullsec.

I know STIMULUS is recruiting but we aren't really in your TZ very much, I think maybe a few pilots active. Give our buddies over at Queens of the Stone Age a shout, they are a active pvp corp without plans for world domination that you can see through. They are primarily EUTZ, as well as having Scots Crusader! He will teach you the wise ways of Scots-Fu if you are man enough to learn it. In any case STIM and Queens are small to mid sized gang pvp only. We operate out in Syndicate(shitty 0.0), while they are out in Molden Heath(lowsec) I believe. We are in an alliance so we do have some EUTZ coverage from other member corps. Always looking to add more! Here is our Forum recruitment post

Seriously, learn to pvp in a frigate, then work your way into a BC. Learning how to fly by losing 50 mil isk at a time hardly sounds like fun!

  4. Both my accounts can fly an Incusus today. Zombinutz flies T2 buffer tank and burners and named scrams, blasters and webs. I also make half the mods for this fit. Kind of why I ask if Gallente ships are really lousy for PvP. Currently I am training out HM and HAM to T2. Long term ZombiNutz plans to be able to fly all race frigs to T2 guns and tank. Eventually adding all the T2 Assult frigs to the mix. Perhaps I'll start with the rifter and auto's :)

I'll reach out to the folks you mentioned. Zombinutz was created as a PvP chrater and ended up my hauler bitch. Sad.

    Thanks for Dropping in Logan.

  5. Hey I forgot to mention, Null s + blasters + incursus = surprising win!

I don't see too many bad things about pvp in gall ships. Ishtars are pretty win, Myrm's are pretty much made of win in their 2 rep or 3 rep flavors not to mention the lolshield myrms. Mega's rock both in close and at range. Domi is a GREAT all around ship, Hype can tank like hell for solo pvp or gatecamping though doesn't work well for rr or sniper fleets. Brutix is one hell of a DPS ship, Thorax, Vexor, and Taranis are all great at their roles and do considerable DPS, with the ranis being one of the better if not best solo inties in the game.

Turn your other character into the hauler bitch for your pvp main :)

my pleasure, have to comment on everything!

  6. Easy choice for me then. Finish out the blaster training. Take the Incursus out and get a job as light tackle for a PvP corp. and learn the buisness.

LOL! My main will always be Braben and Zombi. Parting ways and following different paths seems to be the road to the most joy for me.

Oh and my little evil alt games ;)

  7. Hey, if you are any of the US-TZ then def look or talk to STIM. We are US TZ heavy and have most of our fun during that time frame. Pretty much evenly spread out from east to west coast and then Aussies.

And if you want to learn how to infiltrate you can learn from the Bacch, the grand master of infiltration ;)

Problem being that STIM seems to have some kind of brand as a infiltrator corp or at least does right now. Otherwise, we tend to be pretty rough on newcomers to get them up to speed quickly, but like we say, our manlove goes to 11. Our forums are also a bevy of information and our KB a cesspit of people laughing at our and their bad fits. So take nothing too seriously and you will fit in, otherwise if you are thin skinned, I will give you other suggestions!

  8. So long as folks can take it as well as they give it. I might just fit in. I live in the new England area (west of Boston). I was born an Aussie and remain one, but with a bostralian accent. ;)

Hmm...ribbing PvP types with a reputation for infiltration...Sure is a change of pace over Highsec mining.

Who do I need to bribe? ;)

  9. DAMN! you found out my nefarious isk farming scheme! You might just make it in STIM!

Just drop an app in our recruitment section, that will put you on the list to get an interview, OR just go hang out in our pub channel and talk to people in there about a interview or getting recruited, I think Solarwinds or Gorion wassasomething or other, are the official recruiters, but any of the directors will do.

    http://www.westimulateyou.com/

    for the STIM forums.

Some of us get "butthurt" ;) but that is all part of the fun, most of us have pretty thick skin or just don't make many mistakes LOL! It's part of our culture so you tend to get used to it or go somewhere else after a while.

  10. Next time I am online for a bit I'll jump on channel and see how thick the air is. ;)

85 members and a harsh stick for screw ups might be good for me, but it might also send me into fits of comical rage. (Making for some grumpy posts)

Testing the waters at a few places. Many options. It's just a matter of how big of a digital sissy I am. ;)

  11. Damn, we are up to 85 people these days? We must be rolling large!

Everyone loves comical rage, keeps evil people like us alive. Every once in a while we have to donate some of ours to keep the brew fresh!

Always options in Eve. Just gotta find the right one for you!
